#21 – So no one told me life was gonna be this way…

“One of your favourite shows”

::FRIENDS::

I’ve been unwell for the past 3 days.

I was in the waiting room, the number is 23 and mine was 56.

So i decided to sms my best-friend who was all the way in Penang.

I sms-ed about 3 lines. She replied with 10 lines.

For some unbeknownst reason, I immediately feel like i was not alone in some sense in that crowded room.

Thats one of the reason she’s my best friend.

I watched this show FRIENDS when i was a teenager, which at that time i was just watching it for fun and for the great jokes.

As years gone by, the tapes that i recorded from the VCR got lost and the bulky black thing replaced with round shiny metallic thing, i started collecting the show.

I started watching the show from Season 1 until Season 10.

I had grown up to the age that the characters are/was, and somehow some of the issues that the 6 friends encounter resonates deep.

How one of us got married and “lived with a boy”.

How one of us got a baby.

How one of us got one’s heart broken and the others consoling.

How each and everyone of us celebrated the milestone of our lives.

How me managed to share despite so many changes had happened between all of us.

And how despite all of that, we will always have each other.

When the show ended, i was like “the end of an era”.

Then i realised it was not goodbye, like when i went bid my friend farewell when she left for her matriculation in Melaka,

It was a beginning of something we need to figure out for ourselves separately.

Our destiny are bound apart yet together, in spirit.

Thanks for the 10 lines of SMSes when i need you the most, friend.
